Which version of ZSNES works best for Seiken Densetsu 3?

Topic says it all. I've tried to play with my friend via netplay on version 1.42, but we desynced like crazy. Also many saving issues. Any help would be appreciated.

SD3 works best in a WIP, I'd wager.

HOWEVER, Sd3 NETPLAY works best in 1.36.

You may also wish to try 1.42n, but I've never used it and don't remember where the mirrors are.

Yeah, I'm going to give it a shot on 1.42n right now and if it fails I'll go for 1.36.

What is a WIP btw?

It's weird that I haven't had any major problems with playing Seiken Densetsu 3 on the net, but now when I play that or either Secret of Mana the game desyncs like crazy. I've been playing both with one particular person and we desync at the most inopportune of moments. It desyncs on 1.42 and 1.36 of zsnes won't even start up when I try to play that game online.
