Either use an older version of ZSNES (probably 1.42) or a different SNES emulator.

1.37 was released earlier today. New mappers, some netplay fixes and enhancements, and a new movie recording format among other things. :) A new Linux version was released as well.

It's interesting that you brought this up, as I have wondered about this for a long time as well. With Nestopia, I'm able to use filters, zero frameskip, vsync etc. without taking up 100% CPU, even though it is supposed to be a slower emulator than ZSNES.

If all else fails, remember that GoodSNES catalogs all kinds of hacks. As for how to get them, that is up to you.

Well, so far I have found AntiVir to be a little obtrusive and annoying. Either it's a very good scanner, or it detects more false positives than AVG.

What was the last full ASM version of ZSNES? 1.36?

In relation to this, I would assume that it's only a matter of time before the DOS port is dropped.

Halo 3 is pretty anticipated, no?

I think Halo 1 was slightly overrated, but it was still really good. Maybe if I had the Xbox version instead of the PC version it would be a little better.

I haven't played Halo 2 yet.

Free Anti-virus Software

Which one do you recommend? I've used AVG in the past, but have been told that AntiVir is a good choice, too. Any others?

Auto-regeneration is probably the most practical way to deal with the feature, currently. Still, the need the for the feature at all is what I'm questioning.

which part of ZSnes feature is useles?? One feature that comes to mind is the Custom GUI Fonts feature, which is quite possibly *the* most useless feature in ZSNES. It even forces a 'zfont.txt' into the root directory, which is meaningless for me and does nothing but take up space. But then again, ...

Kajuru wrote:that Zsnes is not only accurate and feature rich
ZSNES really isn't very accurate, especially when compared to other SNES emulators. It was designed to be as fast as possible, even at the expense of accurate emulation. At least that's changing, though.

My guess is that they probably didn't know how to jump or how to use mushrooms to replenish their HP. I don't know, I wasn't there. ;)

Re: VS Unisystem and Playchoice 10 DAT

Does anyone know of a good DAT that can scan VS Unisystem and Playchoice 10 files? They don't appear to be included in the No-Intro NES DAT. GoodNES, in my opinion, is really the best choice for NES ROMs. Unless you're obsessed with having the most up-to-date set, in which case I'd recommend No-Int...

Heh, this reminds me of someone I know who couldn't beat the Hammer Bros in Super Mario RPG. After losing many times, they finally ripped the cartridge out of the console and threw it across the room.

So, currently, how does this emulator compare to ePSXe? Is it generally considered the best now? I don't own any PlayStation games, so I'm unable to test.
