It's a simple change in the source to use system memory rather than video memory, shame that it was never made an actual option in the software.

I fixed it ages ago so that 640x480 and 1280x960 use borders to make the scanlines look correct in these modes only (my one and only contribution to ZSNES, hooray). You can't use them in any other mode. Personally I believe it should always be stretched this way (to 448/480 of the height), but other...

It's been a long time. This wasn't fixed for 1.42. Any chance it's fixed in the WIPs? I guess I can try. If not, please implement it.

Edit: Darn, not fixed in the latest WIP. :(

Yes this 486 has no L2 cache, but it doesn't seem to affect games and Windows 95 that much. I get about the same performance as I did way back in the day on a similar system with an L2 cache (I still remember benchmarks, for some reason). I expected more than 1-3 FPS in ZSNES. Maybe I will try anoth...

I tried version 0.991 on the system, and I got about 1-3 FPS. Not much improvement by disabling sound, about 4 FPS.

Hard to see why the readme said a 486/100 was a "somewhat recommend system".

Version for 486 100?

Would an old DOS based asm version run okay with frameskip on a 486 100? Just for Puzzle Bobble and things. For an old box.

If so, which version? If I'm wasting my time, let me know. I remember trying KGen on a 486 ages ago, and it was a joke. :)

I can explain this. In 2D 3D mode (if that makes sense) then a rectangle is rendered directly as a rectangle. In true 3D rendering mode however, there's no such thing as a rectangle. A rectangle is rendered as two triangles. The line you are seeing is the join between the triangles. I know this is t...

Network path support

At the moment ZSNES can load ROMS directly off a network path (not a mapped network drive) eg.

\\otherpc\roms\snes

But it doesn't save the setting (you must input it manually, of course). I'm guessing this would be a relatively easy fix. Other emulators I've tried are fine with network paths.

File browse bug still present in 1.40

Not surprised this wasn't fixed actually, as nobody has any idea what causes it. Doesn't usually occur until after you load the first ROM.

I never noticed this before because I was forcing my desktop refresh rate, but using the -6 option (60 Hz) changes your default refresh to 60 Hz. It shouldn't do this, obivously, it should only be using 60 Hz for ZSNES.

Yeah, people wanted really full-screen. And I don't think 10:7 = 1.43 is a correct aspect ratio. But the aspect IS 4:3 at 640x448. What you don't understand is that the 224 is really 240, it's just the the 16 pixels are not shown most of the time except in the games which use the full resolution, b...

Yes, it was intended. That "nicer scanlines" code of darkfalz isn't removed, but somewhat restricted. It's only active in 2 modes now: "640x480 DS FULL" and "1280x960 DS FULL", and only when scanlines are on. I'm not sure about this. It also provided a correct aspect r...

Is DX9c included with Doom 3? or I have to download SP2 to get it? Doom 3 is OpenGL based. Anyone who claims DX9c made it run faster than with DX9b has an overactive imagination. Yes, Doom 3 uses DX for basic sound output, but as we all know, the FPS in this game are more or less 100% dependant on ...

It's a shame Pagefault never went through with going back to DX7. I have a PC which has DX7 and I don't want to put DX8 or higher on it (it slows it down about 5%, which I don't like). But there's Snes9x for that PC :)
