Don't you have a risk of permanently bricking the Wii? I think the worst you can do is have to format memory if you mess something up... usually by installing messed up channels... Homebrew Channel is the only channel I've installed , and I havn't heard anyone getting problems with it... I've tried...

I recent tried this out using a "Twilight Hack" which is basicly using a modded save for Zelda:TP
It's very simple and works with non-modded Wiis , no backup support in case anyone is wondering
